ALL ATTENDEES WILL BE ENTERED TO WIN A PROMATE CL CORDLESS HANDPIECE DONATED BY PAC-DENT.

Course Description:

Mental health, stress, and burnout have become hot topics within the dental profession since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. We know that oral healthcare providers are at an increased risk for suffering from these issues due to unique occupational hazards and stressors.

Despite a recent heightened awareness of the problems that dental professionals face in maintaining healthy personal and professional lives, an in-depth explanation of the underlying cause has yet to be discussed to allow clinicians to better understand how to improve their health. This course will dive into the science of thought and how a person’s mental state impacts their body’s response to stress, illness, and life’s challenges. Participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to promote health and wellness by choosing to think positively.

Course objectives:

  • Explore the difference between the mind and the physical brain
  • Discover how negative thinking deteriorates health
  • Discuss career-specific risk factors for negative thinking in dental professionals
  • Learn how positive thinking promotes whole-body health
  • Recognize ways dental professionals can boost positive thinking to improve health
