We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist and providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with dental procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a clean and sterile environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing instruments and materials
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Prepare patients for treatment by seating them in the dental chair and providing necessary instructions
- Perform basic dental procedures such as cleanings, fillings, and extractions under the supervision of the dentist
- Provide post-operative instructions to patients regarding oral hygiene and care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Dentrix or other dental software systems
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality
- Follow proper aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing the dental office reception area
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or relevant position
- Knowledge of medical documentation, including medical coding and record keeping
- Familiarity with EagleSoft or similar dental software systems
- Strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology
- Excellent patient assessment skills and ability to provide compassionate care
- Proficient in using dental instruments and equipment
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic technique
